Arthur's other brothers and sisters were Frédéric, Victorine, Vitalie and Isabelle. In the year 1870, his first French verses appeared in the Revue pour tous, Les Étrennes des orphelins and Les Enfants trouvés by François Coppée. Meanwhile, the little poet grows up and decides that he must travel in order to improve his poetry, trying to get to know other poets, other places where culture would allow him to better express his thoughts and feelings. Arthur thus began to travel to Europe also reaching Paris where he was hosted by the in-laws of the poet Verlaine thanks to which he will be able to meet very important circles and other poets and writers. As for his private life, sentimental in particular, Arthur had no love affairs but it is said that he had a homosexual relationship with the poet Verlaine. Unfortunately, due to a bad knee, his health conditions worsen and after one of his legs was amputated, things went even worse and he died at the age of 37 in the French city of Marseille, on 10 November 1891 with his sister Isabella at his side. of him.
